Performer, collaborator, and teacher with deep roots in Scottish and Irish traditional music.
Calum McGregor is a multi-instrumentalist from Glasgow, Scotland. A highly regarded performer on piano and piano accordion, he is an All Ireland title holder in Piano, Accompaniment and Miscellaneous Marching Bands, and was a finalist in the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2026.
He is a former pupil, turned teacher at Irish Minstrels CCE, a branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann, where he developed and now helps pass on a deep grounding in traditional music. Alongside his stage work, he has built a strong reputation as a collaborative musician who can move comfortably between traditional sessions, concert environments, and large live productions.
He has performed across the UK, Ireland, France, Denmark, Belgium and Holland, including appearances with Johnny Mac and the Faithful supporting Rod Stewart and The Fratellis, as well as with Celtic Steps: The Show in Killarney and Irish Celtic on tour in France.
In competitive performance, Calum has also earned multiple provincial and regional distinctions and several All Ireland placings, reflecting both technical command and musicality at a high level. That same standard shapes his live work today, where his focus remains on expressive, audience-led performance and meaningful collaboration across projects, productions, and touring ensembles.
